In August of 2016, Rebekah Spader passed away at the age of ten after a long battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. During her battle, she remained strong, brave and loved to help others. This little girl lived a life of generosity despite the hardships she endured. The culmination of her efforts was when she decided to host a christian music concert with Geoff Moore and donate the proceeds to Make-A-Wish, which ultimately gave that organization $21,000. She may have been small, but she was mighty!
After Rebekah passed away, her parents, Tony and Stephanie Spader, decided they wanted to create a foundation in her honor to continue her legacy of generosity. Rebekah’s Legacy Foundation was approved as a 501(c)3 in December of 2016. The purpose of the foundation is to support families that are journeying through similar experiences as Rebekah and her family.
The foundation has really big goals of creating a huge ripple effect of Rebekah’s generosity throughout our community. We’ve already shared over $7,500 worth of cash and gifts to families that are experiencing the pains of extensive medical treatment.
